Recycle Event

Recycle Event: Tuesday, June 9, 2026 from 7:30am - 5:00pm
Please stay in your vehicles. We will do the unloading. If you are bringing a large amount of light bulbs, please add up the numbers by bulb type to save us time counting them.
Where? - Two Rivers Utilities, 1415 Lake Street (next door to McDonald's). Drive-up, drop-off, watch for signs. Traffic cones will be placed to ensure a smooth and safe flow.
Why? - Proper recycling prevents toxic heavy metal and other hazardous waste from harming the local lakes and rivers.

- Non-PCB Ballasts - No Charge. Please note: We will no longer be accepting any PCB ballasts. PCB ballasts may be recycled at the Manitowoc County Recycling Center.

- Dehumidifiers

- Freezers
- Full-size refrigerators
- LED monitors and TVs

- RECYCLE FEES:
- Incandescent, fluorescent and LED bulbs:
- 4 feet and under: $1 each
- Over 4 feet: $2 each
- Batteries: $1/lb
- CRT monitors and tube TVs: $10 each
- Plasma, projection and console TVs: $20 each
- Incandescent, fluorescent and LED bulbs:
Smoke detectors, paint and chemicals are not accepted.
You do not need to be a customer of TRU to bring recyclables to this event.

Electronic items collected at TRU’s Recycling Day are recycled through Redemption Recycling in Sheboygan, WI. Redemption Recycling is a “registered Collector” in the DNR E-CYCLE Wisconsin Program and an environmentally responsible solution for your electronics disposal needs. Redemption Recycling does not ship whole components to third world countries overseas where they are improperly disposed of in an environmentally unfriendly manner.
