Municipal Court

Welcome

The mission of the City of Two Rivers and Village of Mishicot Municipal Court is to handle all Municipal and non-criminal traffic citations for the City of Two Rivers and the Village of Mishicot.

The Two Rivers/Mishicot Municipal Court is located in the Two Rivers City Hall, 2nd Floor, Room 202. City Hall is located at 1717 East Park Street, Two Rivers, Wisconsin (Downtown, near 17th and Washington Streets off of State Hwy 42).

About the Municipal Court

The Municipal Court for the City of Two Rivers and Village of Mishicot was established to serve the citizens of their communities and to alleviate the problem of the high caseload in the Circuit Court system. Other advantages of having a local Municipal Court system are; fines are lower, you don't have to travel to Manitowoc to plead your case, the Judge is elected by the citizens of the communities, and he lives and works in our City or Village.

The court is self-sustaining as the fines and almost all the court costs remains with the Village/City. The rest of the money assessed on the fines is paid to Manitowoc County and the State to support the Crime Lab, Jail, OWI education, and Domestic Violence programs.

The Court presently is operated on a part-time basis by the: Municipal Judge, Municipal Court Clerk, the Prosecuting City Attorney, and the Prosecuting Village Attorney.
