Electric Meter Changeout Program
Two Rivers Utilities Electric Meter Replacement Program
TRU continues to upgrade electric meters throughout the community as required by the Public Service Commission PSC 113 and as part of our ongoing system improvements.
Many of the older meters in service have reached the end of their lifespan and are no longer supported by manufacturers. Since 2020, the City has been replacing these meters with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) meters. Each year, utility crews replace approximately 600–700 meters as part of this program.
What to expect:
• Meter replacements typically take 10–15 minutes
• Brief power interruptions may occur during installation
• Work will be completed by utility staff
• There is no cost to residents
Residents do not need to take any action unless the electric meter is located inside the home or building, in which case we may contact you to schedule an appointment for access.
AMI electric meters can provide real-time data. Residents can access detailed data on your energy consumption through our software program, MyAccount. To set up MyAccount click here. You can monitor your usage, set alerts, make online payments and select paperless billing.
Thank you for your cooperation as we continue working to maintain a safe, reliable, and up-to-date electric system for our community.
